B-7 solar car unveiling

On Friday June 28th, at Varsity Center, I had the privilege of being present for the B-7 solar car unveiling. Many of the sponsors, team and Alumni were present. Jroberts has been sponsoring Blue Sky Solar since 2001 by manufacturing all the mechanical systems for the car.

This is by far the nicest looking car I’ve seen yet. This machine is curvy, and immediately reminded me of concept cars the likes of Ferrari, Porsche and Audi would build.

The car will compete in the 2013 World Solar Challenge. The World Solar Challenge starts in Darwin in the Northern Territory and travels the Stuart Highway to Port Augusta and then via Highway 1 to the finish in the City of Adelaide in South Australia – 3000kms.

I wish the team the best of luck. Looks like they have a winner!
